Kawa was born to a Poodle mother in a dog shelter. She was the only one to inherit her father's hairless coat, and the shelter workers thought that she had a disease. They tried to euthanize her, but her mother fiercly protected her. Even after her mother was adopted, Kawa gave the workers a run for their money with her sharp fangs and claws. When she was old enough to be by herself, she escaped from the shelter, only to be captured by Rafu. All her job was, from the time she was the youngest member of the pack to the oldest, to be mocked by him, until Sori came along and took over the pack. She thinks of him as her own, brave son that she never had, and she is willing to introduce him to pack life.
